Why Sprouted Grain?

Our bread begins with the simplest of ingredients: nothing more than organic whole grains. We use a unique, natural sprouting process that starts with immersing the grains in pure, filtered water, and in time, each grain seed comes to life and begins to sprout. We then mix these freshly sprouted grains to form the dough we bake for our bread resulting in a distinctive texture and delicious taste. What is a Whole Grain?

Products made with whole grains use all three parts of the grain - bran (fibre), endosperm (protein) and germ (vitamins & minerals) - so they provide you with all the vitamins, minerals, fibre and other nutrients that are present in the whole grain.

What are the benefits of whole grains?

The fibre, vitamins, minerals & phytochemicals found in whole grains work together to provide energy, good nutrition and are linked to a host of disease-fighting benefits.  Recent research links whole grains to a number of health and disease fighting benefits, ie. heart diseases, cancer, diabetes, weight management and digestive health.


Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating recommends choosing whole grain products more often.  Health experts suggest 3 servings of whole grains per day.
